Memetic Evolution Game
The Memetic Evolution Game examines how ideas, narratives, beliefs, and cultural patterns replicate, mutate, and compete for space in human minds and institutions.
Core Idea
Ideas evolve like genes. Their “fitness” is determined not by truth or long-term utility, but by how effectively they spread (emotional stickiness, simplicity, coalition value, status payoff, etc.).
Key Dynamics
- Simple, emotionally charged ideas spread faster than complex truths
- Victim + Enemy narratives are highly contagious
- Builder ideas often lose in short-term memetic competition
- Institutions and cultures become shaped by the most successful memes, not the best ones
Connection to Other Games
- Powers Narrative Control and Overton Window
- Amplifies Moloch and Slave Owner Game tactics
- Countered by Reality Game, Results & Consequences Game, and deliberate cultural stewardship
Sovereign Response
- Develop strong personal filters for memetic fitness vs. truth
- Actively spread high-utility, reality-aligned ideas
- Build parallel institutions with better cultural “software”
See the Game. Refuse the Game. Build Better.
